Ribbon has been used for centuries as decorations on clothing, but it wasn’t until the 1910’s and 1920’s that ribbon flowers became the fashionable addition at a time when there was a return to simple lines in dress designs.
This workshop, presented by Caroline Hottenstein will relate historical information and introduce several techniques for making ribbon flowers using different kinds of gathered and folded ribbon to form a selection of embellishments. Create a personal touch to your historical or contemporary wardrobe.
The talk begins at 10:00 am with a break for lunch in the dining room.
